Create a course
Create your first course and add content sections.
Create the course
- In your organization, go to All courses.
- Click Create a course.
- In the dialog, enter a Name for the course (at least 2 characters).
- Optionally, add a Short description (up to 450 characters). It's shown alongside the course in listings.
- Choose the course Language.
- Click Create.
If your organization has AI course creation enabled, you'll also see a Generate with AI option next to Create a course, which builds a course with chapters and sections from a prompt instead of starting empty. Some organizations also have an Import SCORM/CMI5 Course tab in the create dialog for uploading SCORM or cmi5 packages. See Integrations for standards support.
Once the course is created, you're taken to the course dashboard.
Add your first section
A newly created course has no content yet, so you'll see a No sections yet prompt on the course dashboard.
- Click New section.
- Enter a Section name.
- Optionally, turn on Chapters to group sections into chapters as your course grows. If you enable it and no chapter exists yet, give the first chapter a name; if a chapter already exists, pick it from the list.
- Click Create.
You're taken to the section editor, where you can add lessons, videos, documents, and other content — either by uploading files directly or selecting existing files from your organization's file library.
Next steps
- Add more sections and chapters to build out your course structure.
- Review the course's settings, cover image, and visibility before publishing.
